Character Information
Name: Naren Skinner
Age: 22
Appearance: Naren is 5’9” and weighs around 142lbs. His hair is black, a little on the long side, and his eyes are blue. His skin is fair and he’s thin with a bit of muscle. He has various scars on his body from Theron, mostly on his back, and nothing unique worth mentioning. His PB is Gaspard Ulliel.
World Information:
The Earth that Naren lives on is only like the one we’re used to in certain ways. The year is 2012, the technology is modern (iPods, iPhones, airplanes and Furbies? Check) and the United States and the rest of the world are as they should be (governments, laws, all of the technical stuff). That’s where the similarities end. The world is also full of magic. Magic is found just about everywhere, for as long as anyone can remember. Magic is mostly found in the people of the world and sometimes even in the creatures. It could possibly even be found in the Earth itself-scientists are still looking into that, to discover the true source of magic. Magic doesn’t affect the animals too much, at least, not in ways all that exciting. Bears and wolves may be stronger and more dangerous, as well as other predators, and rats may be bigger, that sort of thing. Not everyone can use magic though and not everyone is affected by it in the same way. Some people are gifted spell casters, capable of summoning up the powers of fire and ice and so forth. Others are restricted to just a narrow field of magic, such as healing. Being able to use magic isn’t just the only thing that’s different though. There are also the people that all of the magic in the world has given unique abilities. There are some who can shapeshift or bring the dead back to life-known as necromancers-or those who can commune with and control animals. There are many other possibilities of course. Along with all of the other typical laws in place, necromancy has, of course, been banned as it is classed as a crime against nature since the dead are generally brought back as zombies (and even if they weren’t, it would still be outlawed, as even with magic in the world once someone or something dies they are supposed to remain dead), and anyone caught practicing it will be arrested. There are also specific schools set up to teach those who are willing and able to go how to properly control their magical abilities to reduce the risk of accidents with dangerous abilities and help those with beneficial abilities be more useful. It’s pretty much the same as normal schools just with more hands on learning.
History:
Naren was born in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, on July 3rd, 1990. His parents were only mildly gifted with magic, his mother being able to heal people and his father able to very slightly wield the four elements. Naren himself was gifted with the ability to shapeshift, though he didn’t become aware of this until he was about four years old. Of course, being a child with an active imagination, he was thrilled to discover such an ability. Not knowing any better, he often used it to play harmless pranks on people, usually strangers. When his parents found out he was doing that they of course quickly went about teaching him that that wasn’t the right way to use his ability. Though he was young and such things were a little hard to understand, he did know the difference between right and wrong and so stopped using his shape-shifting ability to trick people. Well, for the most part.

He was close to his parents growing up and they loved him and taught him all that they could. Basically he had a good childhood with a loving family. As he grew older he never finished high school, though while he was attending he was never exactly one of the popular kids. He wasn’t disliked either, he was just one of those kids that was never really noticed, never stood out too much or got into trouble. He was easy going and easy to make friends with though, and ended up with a small group of friends that he saw regularly during school and on occasion hung out with on the weekends. Briefly, for a few weeks, he even ended up with a girlfriend. Despite the fact that the girl was attractive and nice, they didn’t really stand a chance to work out. This was partially because of the fact that Naren was somewhat awkward and shy around girls at the time, and the fact that he eventually realized that he just wasn’t attracted to women. The break up wasn’t too painful though, as he declined to tell the girl that dating her had made him realize he was gay. That would have probably crushed her feelings, and Naren was too nice to risk being mean to someone like that.

A major change in Naren’s life came when he was seventeen, about two years after he broke up with his girlfriend. At that point in his life he met a man named Theron. Theron was older than Naren-at least by five years-but he was attractive, nice, and easy to approach. Naren had never actually met a guy that he’d developed a crush on before, so Theron was the first. Needless to say, when Theron expressed interest in Naren, Naren swiftly grew attached. The two would spend time together after Naren got out of school and on the weekends they would meet up to hang out and go catch a movie or have pizza together. However, everything wasn’t as it seemed.

Only a few weeks after meeting Theron, at Theron’s suggestion, Naren dropped out of high school and left home to essentially run away with Theron. It ended up easily being the worst idea of Naren’s life. After only a week or two with Theron, the nice guy act quickly went away and instead Theron revealed himself to be perverse and twisted. He had only acted nice to lure Naren in and make him trust him and when he succeeded in that, he held Naren prisoner in his house in the woods. It was far enough away from the rest of the town that no one would hear anything that happened, or notice anything strange. Of course with Naren being a shapeshifter it wasn’t exactly that easy to hold him captive, but even magic can prevent a shapeshifter from escaping. So that’s what Theron did. He crafted magical restraints to prevent Naren from getting away.

Naren felt hurt and betrayed that Theron had only used him, though things grew worse over time. Over the course of the next few weeks, Theron brutally abused Naren in various ways, including rape and torture. Up until this point, Naren was not a violent person. He had never wished anyone harm before, nor had he ever gotten into any fights or hurt anyone. However, all of the abuse he suffered through not only began to twist him as well but made him realize that if he didn’t do something, he might never escape from Theron. Either he would just stay there forever and be tormented endlessly, or sooner or later Theron would either go too far or grow bored with him and kill him. With that in mind, Naren devised a plan to escape. By acting as weak and defeated as he could, he managed to convince Theron that he wouldn’t try to escape if he was released from his restraints, and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt him. Though Theron remained suspicious, he eventually did release Naren and allow him to do things such as take showers and sleep in a real bed.

Sometime after being released though, knowing that if he ran away Theron would only find him again, Naren attacked him. As Naren was still considerably weak from being imprisoned and mistreated for so long, as well as never having fought anyone before, it was a difficult, close fight that he nearly lost. He won in the end though by accidentally stabbing Theron in the neck with his fingernails, which Naren had altered to be longer and sharper when he lost the kitchen knife he had originally been using. It was an accident because he had only been aiming to shove Theron away when he lunged for him, but ultimately gave him the upper hand in the fight. Desperate for freedom and to protect himself, he retrieved the knife he had had previously and stabbed Theron with it repeatedly until he was most definitely dead.

Theron was the first person that Naren ever killed, and though he was horrified by it, he didn’t regret it either, because it was self-defense and he had no other choice. From that moment on though, Naren vowed that he would never let anyone else ever hurt him like that ever again, or at all. He would hurt other people first if he had to before they had a chance to hurt him. Even if that wasn’t their intention at all, Naren felt he wouldn’t be able to trust anyone, since he had trusted Theron and had been horribly betrayed. Because of this he became cold and withdrawn, as well as violent and sadistic. He began lashing out at other people and killing anyone who got in his way or he felt was a threat to him.

After gaining his freedom though, Naren didn’t return home. Not only had he been missing for a few months by now and would have a lot to explain to his family, but he felt they would have been disappointed in the person he had become-an untrusting, violent person. Not wanting them to have to go through that kind of heartache, he felt it better that they never know what happened to him and moved to Nevada to distance himself from his family. It was also to slip away from the location of Theron’s murder, as he was sure that someone would discover his body eventually.

Over the next few years Naren began killing and torturing people as well as stealing things. He had no one to teach him how to do these things successfully without getting caught so he took cues from movies he had watched and combined them with his own common sense and ideas. Of course movies aren’t always the most reliable source of information for how to actually commit crimes in real life, they helped to give him ideas on what to do and what not to do, and Naren went from there. At first he felt guilty about the things he was doing, but over time as he adjusted to the new way he was living his life, those feelings of guilt eventually went away. Not only did he lie low and take care not to draw any attention to himself in his true form (he used all shapeshifted appearances for any crimes he committed), but Naren also moved around every now and then when he felt he had stayed in one place too long, to keep from being found out as the one behind the murders and thefts.

Due to moving around as often as he did, he didn’t really have that many possessions as he had no way to take a lot with him-just whatever he could fit in a backpack and duffel bag, pretty much. He also usually didn’t end up staying in the nicest places-usually abandoned buildings or unoccupied motel rooms-as he saved most of his money for things such as food. He also didn’t make any attempts to reach out to other people to connect or make friends, as he was now still afraid to trust people. So for the most part, he kept to himself.

Eventually Naren ended up in Apple Valley, California. There he set himself up in an abandoned house just outside of the city, set back into the woods. No one had lived there for quite a few years and it wasn’t exactly the best place to stay since it didn’t have any electricity or running water, but it was good enough for Naren. He fixed up a few of the rooms to live in, repairing what things he could and cleaning things up, but left the rest of the house as it was. He also didn’t try to fix up the yard, in case someone came around, so that it wouldn’t be obvious that someone was staying there.

This was also the same city where he met a man named Olexei. Now, Olexei was quite handsome, but somewhat cold and uptight and dodged every single one of Naren’s attempts to get him to open up. Though Naren was wary because of what had happened the last time he met someone who caught his attention, he couldn’t help but end up getting quickly attached to Olexei. At first, no matter how hard Naren tried, Olexei continued to remain too serious and uptight for Naren’s liking. Naren actually ended up annoying him more than anything for a while, since his method of doing it involved following Olexei around and pestering him a lot. During this time, Naren also hid his true nature from Olexei, keeping it a secret the fact that he killed people and stole things, as he didn’t yet know much about the other man yet and wasn’t sure what Olexei would think those things.

Pestering Olexei to get him to open up might not have been Naren’s best idea, but in the end, after a few weeks of knowing each other, Olexei did indeed start to open up. It started off small-Olexei began to smile more, he made less empty threats to cause Naren bodily harm if he kept pestering him, that sort of thing. Eventually, Olexei invited Naren to stay with him since he had an actual house with actual working electricity and running water, but Naren declined-considering what had happened the last time he had stayed with someone. There was also the fact that his collection of useless expensive jewelry and other such things could be discovered, and he still had yet to mention any of that to Olexei.

However, he wasn’t able to keep Olexei in the dark forever. One day, when Naren had just returned home from a particularly violent (and unplanned) murder that he had narrowly managed to slip away from and hadn’t yet had time to clean up the blood he’d gotten all over himself, Olexei unexpectedly showed up. With no real way to lie his way out of the situation, Naren took a leap of faith of sorts and blurted out the truth. Rather than be horrified or shun him, as Naren had feared would happen, Olexei accepted this other side of Naren. As it turned out, Olexei had a violent streak himself, though was nowhere near Theron’s level, and had only committed an odd murder here and there over the years. Olexei also revealed that he had grown attracted to Naren, and once more invited Naren to stay with him. Greatly relieved and somewhat flustered, Naren accepted the offer this time.

Naren remained a little tense and wary for a while after moving in with Olexei, but eventually relaxed when Olexei proved that he wasn’t psychotic like Theron had been. As time passed Naren grew more attached to Olexei, though never said anything about it because he was, honestly, afraid to. Though he would never admit that either. A few times, Olexei accompanied Naren on some his outings to kill or steal, though had to be extra careful since he could not shapeshift like Naren, and usually stayed back and let Naren do most of the work (or have most of the fun, depending on how you look at it) unless, of course, he needed Olexei’s help for something. By going about things intelligently, they managed to do these things without being caught, though of course they have ended up with a few close calls sometimes.

[personal profile] bloodymurder 2012-12-31 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Naren used to be a kind person. He was easy going, laid back, and had a habit of goofing off when he was around friends. This big change from kind to cruel came about because of Theron. After the way that Theron used and abused him, Naren became afraid to trust people. He decided to become stronger and hurt other people before they could hurt him, so that he would never feel like a victim again. So because of that, Naren became a cruel person who wouldn’t hesitate to do almost anything. Almost anything, because he has a very small list of things that he would not do to someone. This very small list includes things such as the fact that he would never sexually assault someone because he wouldn’t want them to suffer like he had. He would also never gain someone’s trust just for the sake of betraying them, since that was also something that happened to him. It should also be noted that Naren would never hurt animals, as he believes they are innocent and don’t deserve to suffer. Now, aside from that list, there’s pretty much nothing else he wouldn’t do to anyone, and no one is safe from his cruelty; men, women, children, are all fair game to him. He won’t even show someone mercy just because he pities them or because they’re unable to defend themselves.

He doesn’t just lash out at people because he’s afraid to be hurt again though. He also does it because he’s afraid to be loved. He worries that letting someone in will make him weak and vulnerable because it could be used as a way for someone else to hurt him, either directly or by hurting that person that he cares about. Of course, there’s also the fact that he gets easily attached to people, something that could be-and has been-used against him. The fact that he gets easily attached to people is also a sign that deep down he’s desperate to not be alone and to get attention from others. So, despite being terrified of being loved, it’s something that he wants more than anything. He wants someone to care about him, he wants to feel safe with someone.

Of course, this will never be an easy task for him to accomplish, as it’s very difficult for him to trust people. His trust issues stem from what he went through with Theron and thus have made him suspicious of everyone. It’s hard for him to open up to people about his feelings or what’s really on his mind. He’s afraid to admit when he has feelings for someone because he’s certain that they either won’t feel the same or that they’ll end up hurting him.

Naren is a sado-masochist. He enjoys hurting people and watching them suffer, even people he cares about-especially people he cares about. In some ways it’s a twisted sign of affection. It’s also a matter of power and feeling superior and in control that he really enjoys (and needs, in a way, so that he doesn’t feel like a victim again). However, if someone else were to hurt someone he cares about, he would lash out violently to protect what’s his. Not only does Naren enjoy watching someone bleed and writhe in pain, he also enjoys hurting people emotionally. He takes great pleasure out of figuring out how to crush someone’s spirit and tear them down mentally. He likes to isolate them, to make them feel like they have no one, that their friends don’t care about them and that he’s the only one they have. This also means that he’s free to hurt them more physically with less chance of them trying to get away.

Isolating people so that they feel like he’s the only one who cares about them is also something he tends to do when he gets attached to someone in a non-romantic way. Yes, it’s very hard for him to make friends in a normal way without manipulating them. His social skills have grown vastly awkward since he was a goofy, friendly teenager in high school. He’s no longer sure how to properly make friends.

Not surprising, Naren is very selfish and possessive. Not only does his own wellbeing come before anybody else’s, with the wellbeing of those he cares about coming second, but if he wants something or someone, he won’t stop until it’s his. He is also, as stated, very possessive; what’s his is his and no one else’s. He doesn’t like people touching his belongings or touching/hurting people he’s ‘claimed’. If it does happen, he would most certainly go after whoever was responsible to have a ‘chat’ with them, though for Naren, having a chat with someone can range from literally just talking to hurting them.

Naren really likes blood-or rather, has an unhealthy obsession with it. Blood is one of his favorite things. He likes the color of it, the smell of it, the feel of it on his skin and he would even dance in it if he could. However, he’s also very finicky and really dislikes getting blood on his clothes. It’s very hard to wash out and he’s fairly lazy; he doesn’t want to have to spend the time trying to get it out of his clothes. As for the reason he enjoys blood so much, it’s tied to his sadistic nature and his desire to never feel like a victim. Blood is life and so long as it’s other people’s blood and not his own, then things are good.

Another thing that Naren really likes is sex-though considering what he went through in the past with Theron, it’s also one of the things that he’s the most wary of. Naren doesn’t want to have sex with just anyone for the sake of having sex. He wants to have sex with someone he really trusts and loves because he wants to be with them. If he doesn’t really trust or love them, then it’s just not happening because it would just trigger bad memories and cause him to have a panic attack and/or lash out violently to try and protect himself.

Now, on one hand, Naren is very confident and arrogant. He knows that he’s capable of doing a lot of horrible things, knows that he’s strong and is confident in his ability to accomplish things. He is also very egotistical and often brags or shows off just for the sake of showing off. If someone says there’s something he can’t accomplish or that he’s not good enough for something, he will work extra hard to prove that he can and is good enough. It’s probably not all that surprising by this point that Naren is also very competitive. He doesn’t want to be outdone by other people, he wants to be the best at whatever it is. If it’s competition for someone’s affection, he will do the best he can to make that person fall in love with him rather than the competition. Whatever it is, he wants to win and be the best-simply for the sake of winning. On the other hand though, on a deeper, more emotional level, Naren is also very insecure. He feels that because of everything he’s been through that he’s ‘dirty’ and that no one would really want to care about him or love him. He thinks that he’s not good enough for anyone, really. However, he normally hides these insecurities under his usual air of confidence, arrogance, and a lot of flirting.

Naren doesn’t actually think very highly of himself, in some ways. Yes, he’s very good at acting like he does, but deep down he doesn’t really believe it. He just doesn’t want anyone else to know he doesn’t believe it because he fears that the truth could make him an easy victim again. That’s why he tries so hard to be the best at things, so that maybe he’ll really believe it himself, eventually. In actuality, Naren views himself as someone who is damaged. He feels that his family would be utterly disappointed and disgusted with the person he’s become if they knew. It’s the same reason why he’s not very eager to make a lot of friends. Yes, he’s socially awkward and is terrible at making friends (though he really wants people to care about him), but he’s also afraid of what they would think about who he really is. He also believes that he’s dirty and unworthy of affection, not only because of what Theron did to him, but also because of everything Naren himself as done since then.

Now, while Naren might not think too highly of himself, he is narcissistic. He is quite handsome, and he knows it. His appearance is quite important to him and if anything were to happen to ruin his looks-wounds, scars, etc-he would be quite upset. His appearance is one of the few things that he isn’t self-conscious about, so of course he would rather nothing happen to change that. He also sort of thinks that his good looks will help him get things that he wants or help him to talk his way out of bad situations.

He’s something of an adrenaline junkie. He enjoys doing risky things and getting away with them just for the thrill, such as killing or stealing. The risk of being caught or not being able to pull it off successfully is something he enjoys. It doesn’t always have to be something illegal; he also gets a thrill out of doing risky stunts and things that could endanger his life. He also gets a thrill out of violence and fighting, whether it’s a fight easily won or one he could easily lose. He’s not particularly skilled with any specific weapon though and usually prefers to just use his nails to inflict damage.

Despite the fact that Naren can be spontaneous and often prefers to do things spur of the moment when the idea occurs to him, he is also capable of planning things out. He just doesn’t usually have the patience for it, which is why he only plans when it’s something that’s really important to him. To Naren, something ‘really important’ that requires planning would be things such as how to pull off a high risk crime without getting caught (high risk for him being a jewelry store theft or getting someone somewhere secluded to kill them), the best way to hurt someone, or how to win over someone he’s really attracted to. Sometimes they might not always be the best plans, but they’re plans nonetheless.

So, Naren kills people, we got that, right? Good. Now, he didn’t just start doing this because he wanted to become ‘stronger’ after Theron. Naren has also discovered that killing and hurting people is actually therapeutic for him. It helps him to calm down and relax if he’s in a particularly bad mood. It’s a good way for him to release stress and clear his mind. He knows it’s wrong and before Theron he never would have hurt anyone. However, for lack of a better term, Theron seriously fucked him up.

Problems with authority? Naren has them. He does what he wants when he wants and no one can tell him otherwise. Since he’s spent years on his own following only his own rules, he doesn’t like being told what to do and likely won’t listen even if it’s for his own good. Especially if it’s for his own good because he thinks he knows better and can handle whatever it is better his way. He also doesn’t play well with others. That is, he doesn’t exactly do teamwork or group efforts because he would rather do things on his own his way. He has trouble cooperating with what other people would expect him to do in a group.

Naren left his family behind for a few different reasons. Part of it was of course because he wanted to distance himself from Theron’s murder, but it wasn’t the only reason. Naren knew that what he went through with Theron changed him and he didn’t want his family to have to see the person that he had become. He wanted them to remember him as he had been before; innocent and kind. He didn’t want to have to disappoint them like he knew he would. He also didn’t want to risk hurting them, whether by his own hand directly or by getting them dragged into his mess. That’s why he’s never contacted them and never returned home, not even in disguise. He knows they’re hurting because of his disappearance, but to him that’s better than the alternative. He loves them, and in his way he’s protecting them.

He’s something of a kleptomaniac. His usual targets? Sparkly jewelry or any other pretty/shiny/interesting objects that catch his eye. He has no use for any of these things, he doesn’t even wear jewelry. He just steals them for the sake of adding them to his collection. It could also be said that his useless collection of ‘pretty shiny’ things is his most prized possession. He doesn’t take kindly to other people-even the items’ rightful owners-trying to touch them, move them, or reclaim them. He seriously wouldn’t hesitate to break someone’s fingers for that sort of offense. See also: Naren is possessive.

Despite being too afraid to say it thus far, Naren is in love with Olexei. Naren feels safe around him and Olexei has never done anything to make Naren feel uncomfortable. Olexei accepts Naren for who he is, even his violent, sadistic side, and that’s really the most important thing to Naren. Of course, there’s also the fact that he enjoys spending time with him, as well as the fact that Olexei is slowly managing to rebuild Naren’s trust in people. Naren would do just about anything for Olexei, whether to make him happy or to keep him safe, and anyone who dared to hurt him would find themselves in serious, possibly fatal, trouble with Naren. Naren prefers sleeping in Olexei’s bed with him because that way he has less nightmares about Theron, and though he might still have an occasional nightmare, Olexei is right there to reassure him that everything’s alright.

Before, Naren had loved Theron, and had thought that things would work out between them. After being betrayed and everything else that Naren had to go through though, he both hates and is terrified of Theron. To this day, Naren continues to have nightmares about him. The most recurring one is Naren’s fear that he didn’t really kill Theron that day years ago and that Theron will eventually return for revenge. As such, his nightmares involve trying to get away from Theron or being tortured by him. This also means that Naren often wakes up screaming and afterwards has trouble getting back to sleep due to the intensity and how realistic his dreams are. Theron is the reason that Naren doesn’t trust people and was twisted enough to later think that becoming sadistic was a good way to ‘protect’ himself. He doesn’t like talking about Theron or what Theron did to him and would rather avoid the topic at all costs. It is a very difficult subject for him and makes him uncomfortable and anxious. He’s almost afraid that talking about Theron will bring him back. That is how much of a negative impact Theron’s had on him.

Naren feels that other people, if they really knew him, wouldn’t want to know him. He feels that people would be disgusted and horrified by him and would think he’s just a murderer, just some crazy, useless, scummy guy. He doesn’t think there’s any real reason for anyone to think otherwise either and actually like him, since he doesn’t think he has any redeemable qualities. On a couple of occasions, when he’s kidnapped someone and actually talked to them before killing them, his assumptions were proven correct. Of course, that was also someone he had kidnapped and was planning on killing, so they had absolutely no reason to think highly of him. Nonetheless, he still listened to their opinions and words and figures that’s probably what everyone else thinks of him too.

One of the things that Naren does quite often, when the situation calls for it, is to claim that he’s not crazy. He’s quite adamant about it, and won’t sway on this opinion. Despite his claim, he often does things that would say otherwise. He’s brash and reckless, and steals and kills for fun. To normal people, he would be considered some kind of crazy. However, to himself, in Naren’s own opinion, he’s sane and can’t be convinced otherwise, no matter how hard someone might try.

He has an irrational fear of fire. Why is not actually known and he’s not actually able to explain why to anyone. He’s never had any traumatic experience with fire before or anything like that. Nonetheless, he’s scared of fire and will stay as far away from it as possible. Around other people he tries not to act like he’s afraid of fire and won’t willingly admit it. He’ll do his best to seem like he’s perfectly alright. In actuality though, fire makes him panic and he won’t do well stuck in enclosed spaces with it. He also, of course, has a fear of burning to death, though it’s not his main reason for fearing fire. For whatever the real reason is, he just doesn’t like it.

Water, on the other hand, comforts him. It’s mostly the sound of it that he enjoys. The sound of the ocean and the waves can calm him down and lull him to sleep, even. Water is cool and peaceful-and kind of the opposite of fire, which might be another reason why he likes it so much. Rivers and brooks, sound-wise, are also calming to him. Basically, the sound of any sort of running or moving water is soothing.
Possessions: A black tuxedo jacket with red lace around the cuffs, a red silk tie, black leather pants, and black combat boots.
Abilities:
Naren is a shapeshifter. He can change his appearance to that of any other human form, anything he sees or imagines. This is, though, limited to just human forms. Along with this, he’s somewhat faster and stronger than a normal human being as well as possessing a heightened sense of smell to such a degree that he can smell fear. He is also skilled at various forms of torture as well as being a decent actor and fighter.

If you think that kidnapping me is supposed to scare me, you’re wrong. This is actually kind of nice. I’ve been meaning to visit the East Coast sometime, really. Not that there’s anything wrong with California, but traveling is nice. Thank you for making things easier for me.

[He laughs a little, sounding to all the world that he’s completely unbothered by everything that’s going on.]

In fact, I’d like to shake the hand of the necromancer you’ve got around here, because this work is quite impressive. [Incredibly illegal, at least as far as he’s aware of, but impressive all the same.] Takes a lot of gall to do all of this. Must be fun.

But I digress. Good job getting me here, but your luck just might be wearing thin now-even thinner as soon as I find out who’s responsible for this. [It’s a threat. A very cheerfully stated threat, but a threat all the same.] Try to have a good day until then, though.

Third Person:
Crimson. It was the most beautiful shade of crimson. It fell from the ceiling as rain, through the sprinkler systems, since they were of course inside and so it couldn’t possibly be real rain. Pools and puddles were forming across the floor already, and the black haired young man splashed through them as he twirled, his feet bare. His boots, along with his jacket, sat off to the side, out of the way of the blood. He was bare-chested, and the crimson drops fell bright against his pale, silken skin, making tracks. His eyes were closed as he tilted his head back, stretching out his arms, his palms upturned.

He was dancing through the blood like an ethereal spirit, or a small child in the rain. Carefree and joyous, he spun on one foot, managing to keep his balance even through a puddle. He laughed a bit as he opened his eyes, running his hands back through his hair, smearing blood on both. Who knew whose blood he was frolicking in-most likely more than one person-but their unfortunate demise had brought a sparkle to his blue eyes. He appeared so young and innocent, and yet there was a sadistic edge about him-there had to be, after all, considering the crimson rain he’d created.

Performing another elegant twirl, he spotted his lover standing off to the side, arms crossed as he leaned back against the wall. He was safe from the falling blood as he watched Naren dancing.

“Olexei,” Naren called in a sing-song voice, flashing a smile to the older man before spinning again.

“Yeah, Naren?” Olexei replied, smiling in return.

“Come over here.” Naren had stopped dancing now, standing there with one hand on his hip, his other stretched out towards Olexei, making come hither motions.

Olexei turned his eyes up to the ceiling and then looked back to Naren, uncrossing his arms and stepping forward. “Who did you kill for all of this, anyway?” he asked, raising a brow.

“Does it really matter?” Naren replied with a wicked smirk, licking away some of the blood that had fallen on his lips, savoring the coppery, metallic taste.

“Nah. Just wonderin’,” the other said, crimson drops falling on his hair and skin now.

“A bunch of people who deserved it anyway. They got in my way,” Naren said with a shrug and another smirk, snaking his arms around Olexei’s shoulders when he’d reached him.
